Client Rights
As a client in my practice, you have the following rights:
Dignity and Respect You have the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity at all times.
Clear Information You have the right to receive clear information about your treatment, my approach, and what to expect in therapy.
Participation in Treatment You have the right to actively participate in setting goals and making decisions about your care.
Informed Consent You have the right to understand the benefits, risks, and limitations of therapy before beginning, and to give or withhold consent.
Confidentiality You have the right to confidentiality. Information shared in session is kept private, with limited exceptions required by law (such as risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse, or court order). As an LPC-Associate, I participate in regular clinical supervision with my supervisor, Fredericka Vyvlecka, LPC-S. This means I may discuss your case in supervision in order to ensure you receive the highest quality of care. Your identity and personal details are protected during these discussions.
Access to Records You have the right to request a copy of your clinical records at any time by submitting a written request. In accordance with Texas law, I will respond to your request within 15 days. Reasonable fees for copying and providing records may apply. I will provide the records in a timely manner according to legal and ethical guidelines.
Refusal of Services You have the right to refuse any recommended services or to end therapy at any time.
Non-Discrimination You have the right to equal access to services regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, or disability.
Complaints and Grievances You have the right to voice any concerns about your care. If you are not satisfied with how your concern is addressed, you may file a formal complaint with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC).
