What to Expect

Starting therapy is a big step, and I want the process to feel as smooth and welcoming as possible. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Complete the Inquiry Form

Fill out the short form on my website. This helps me understand a little about you and what you’re looking for.

  2. My Response

I will personally reply to your email within 1–2 business days. I’ll answer any questions you have and we can briefly discuss whether we might be a good fit.

  3. Next Steps

If we both decide to move forward, I’ll send you a secure link to my Simple Practice client portal. There you can complete your intake paperwork and schedule your first appointment (either in-person in my Grapevine office or virtually).

  4. Your Appointments

All initial intake sessions are 90 minutes long. This first session is a bit different from regular sessions — we’ll spend time exploring your background, current concerns, and goals so I can get a clear understanding of how best to support you. From there, we can discuss what session length (typically 50 minutes) and schedule would be the best fit for your needs moving forward.

I’m here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions at any point, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Simple Practice?

Simple Practice is a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform that I use to manage client paperwork, scheduling, and telehealth sessions. It allows you to easily complete intake forms, sign documents, schedule appointments, and join virtual sessions all in one private, user-friendly portal. There is a very convenient client app available, but it is not necessary — you can do everything through your web browser if you prefer.

How do I use Simple Practice?

It’s very simple! Once I send you the secure invitation link, you’ll create a free client account. From there you can fill out paperwork, schedule appointments, and join virtual sessions by clicking “Join Session” — no extra apps needed. I’m happy to walk you through it if you have any questions.

What is a typical therapy schedule?

Although many clients begin with weekly sessions, as this allows for consistent support and faster progress, each journey is unique. Some people prefer longer sessions every other week. Your schedule is always flexible and will be decided together based on your needs, progress, and life circumstances.

Is there any advantage to telehealth (virtual) vs. in-person?

Research, including multiple meta-analyses, shows that telehealth therapy is generally as effective as in-person therapy for a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Ultimately, the best format is a matter of personal preference based on your individual needs, comfort, and life circumstances.

Can I do both virtual and in-person sessions?

Yes! You’re welcome to mix both. Some clients prefer to do their first few sessions in-person to build comfort and connection, then switch to virtual sessions for follow-ups. Others alternate depending on their week. We can create whatever arrangement works best for you.

How do I get a hold of you?

The best way to reach me is by email at sonja@libertascordis.com. I typically respond within 1–2 business days. You can also call or text me at (817)383-6337; I typically respond to text and voicemail messages within 1-2 days as well.

I run a small private practice by myself so I can offer warm, individualized care without the layers of a larger organization. You will always be working directly with me.
